Inclusion
St John's has for many years provided extensive help to children with additional needs. We pride ourselves on our work with all children and our aptitude for obtaining specific help for those children whose needs require extra support. We seek advice and support through the County Special Needs Teams as well as carrying out research to ensure we can provide the best possible support for your child. We have significant experience within the team and will call on external experts as needed. We seek financial support through our Local High Needs Funding panels run by DSPL 6 (Delivering Special Provision Locally).
The playgroup works to the requirements of the Education Act 2011; Special Educational Needs and Disability Code of Practice 2015 and Equality Act 2010. The role of Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator is shared by the Manager Celia Mills and AnnaMaria Turner, who work closely together with the parents, the child's keyworker and relevant multi agency teams to ensure that the most appropriate help is provided.
